That day, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gli-manchester.net\/ilo.org\/\">International Labour Organisation<\/a>&nbsp;agreed to adopt a new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/dyn\/normlex\/en\/f?p=NORMLEXPUB:12100:0::NO::P12100_ILO_CODE:C189\">Convention No.189 (C189) Decent Work for Domestic Workers<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In commemoration of the 10th&nbsp;anniversary of C189, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gli-manchester.net\/idwfed.org\/\">International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF)<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gli-manchester.net\/wiego.org\/\">Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO)<\/a>&nbsp;comissioned the Global Labour Institute to develop a follow-up booklet to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiego.org\/resources\/yes-we-did-it-how-worlds-domestic-workers-won-their-international-rights-and-recognition\">Yes, We Did It! How the World\u2019s Domestic Workers Won Their International Rights and Recognition<\/a>\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new booklet celebrates the progress made for domestic workers since the adoption of ILO C189, and looks to the challenges that still lie ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gli-manchester.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/attachment_1-2.pdf\">Click here to read it.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gli-manchester.net\/\">GLI Manchester<\/a>\u00a0is a not-for-profit company, working closely with a range of global union federations, national trade unions, research institutions and workers\u2019 education organisations. It conducts education, capacity-building and research on international labour movement development and organising strategies. It specialises in political education, organisation and trade union policy with informal economy workers, and the design and management of international workers\u2019 education programmes.
