In 2019, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) adopted ILO Violence and Harassment Convention (No.190) and Recommendation (No.206). These international tools were introduced to tackle violence and harassment in the world of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
GLI Manchester was commissioned by a coalition of Global Union Federations (IUF, PSI, ITUC, ITF, EI, IFJ, IndustriALL, IDWF, UNI Global Union, and BWI) to produce a Train the Trainers Toolkit on ILO C190 and R206 as a resource for the international trade union movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The toolkit includes both a facilitator guide (currently available in English<\/a>, French<\/a>, Spanish<\/a>) and an activity workbook (currently available in English<\/a>, French, Spanish<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The toolkit aims to provide unions with tools to develop workplace solutions that tackle violence and harassment, with a special focus on gender-based violence and harassment, and ensure that violence is no longer considered as \u201cpart of the job\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On June 25th 2021, when ILO Convention 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work came into force, global unions held a launch event for the toolkit and to celebrate this progressive and groundbreaking Convention. You can watch the recording of the launch\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n GLI Manchester<\/a>\u00a0is a not-for-profit company, working closely with a range of global union federations, national trade unions, research institutions and workers\u2019 education organisations. It conducts education, capacity-building and research on international labour movement development and organising strategies. It specialises in political education, organisation and trade union policy with informal economy workers, and the design and management of international workers\u2019 education programmes.
