GLI Manchester contributed an article to this edition of IUR. The article explores the contribution of livestock production to the climate crisis. The article puts forward a set of trade union proposals for the sector \u2013 developed by the IUF and GLI \u2013 which demonstrated the potential for engagement with climate activities around shared ideas about decentralisation and redistribution, reducing the size of supply chains and the role of global corporations in the food sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iuf.org\/\">International Union of Foodworkers (IUF)<\/a>&nbsp;commissioned GLI Manchester to transform IUF research on the climate crisis in intensive livestock production into a guide to equip affiliated unions in meat, dairy, and agriculture sectors to influence the conditions for a just transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guide\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gli-manchester.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IUF-Climate-Crisis-Guide-Activity-book-ENGLISH-24.02.2022-on-line.pdf\">\u2018Fighting for our Future \u2013 an IUF Guide on Tackling the Climate Crisis in Intensive Livestock Production\u2019<\/a>\u00a0was released in March. It conducts education, capacity-building and research on international labour movement development and organising strategies.
